It cooperates with law enforcement bodies of Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, China, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan.〔(Drug Control Agency marks milestone )〕 In 2004, the head of the agency, Ghaffor Mirzoyev, was sentenced to life imprisonment for drug trafficking.
